CORTLAND, Ohio — Dan Mansky and Rich Chapman parlayed a pair of consistent catches of largemouth bass into a $10,000 top prize in Mosquito Madness XII at Mosquito Lake on May 6-7, the richest bass tournament victory in Ohio this season.
Mansky and Chapman topped the first-day standings with a Saturday limit of five bass on a very chilly weekend weighing 12.83 pounds. The pair added another five-bass limit on Sunday weighing 12.38, good for a two-day total of 25.21 pounds.
The second-day catch was third on the day’s list behind Mike Black and Harry Moore (14.61 pounds) and Mike Maloney and Todd Menmuir (13.89 pounds), but it was enough to take home the 2017 crown.
Finishing second were Joe Reed and noted pro angler Nick Prvonozac (24.47 pounds), followed by Maloney and Menmuir (24.01 pounds), John and Trevor White (23.73 pounds) and David and Mike Tharp (23.69 pounds).
